V would like to wish a very happy birthday to a beloved member of the V family: Karl Lagerfeld. Most of the world knew Karl as the creative director for a trifecta of brands (Chanel, Fendi and namesake Karl Lagerfeld) but to V, he was so much more. As one of our earliest contributors and supporters, V Magazine will forever recognize the lifetime impact that he had made both in the world of fashion and for our own publication.

To celebrate the legend, V are inaugurating his V99 cover for the next installment of our 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫’𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛! Captured back in 2016 by fellow visionary Hedi slimane, the two were brought back together after 10 years, at the request of our then guest editor @ladygaga. With Lagerfeld shooting Slimane, and Slimane shooting Lagerfeld, the two captured a moment that will go down in V’s history for eternity.
